Employee communication software for frontline teams.
Bring workplace announcements and team conversations into one place. Reach employees across departments and locations, choose an audience within your permissions, and give important updates a clear next step.
An employee does not need a company-issued email address to be part of Barkly. They do need an email address for their account invitation and sign-in. Once connected, workplace updates and conversations live in Barkly.
02
Give every message an appropriate audience.
Share an organization-wide update, contact a department, or bring selected people into a conversation. Audience choices follow your organization’s structure and each sender’s permissions.
03
Give important updates a clear next step.
Use announcements when a message needs a shared reference point. Request an acknowledgment when you need an explicit response, and see views and acknowledgments separately.
Put it to work
From a company update to a team conversation.
Across locations
Share an employee meeting or workplace procedure update with the locations involved.
Within a department
Keep dining, housekeeping, maintenance, or another team informed about changes to its workday.
Across responsibilities
Bring the employees organizing an event or project into a focused conversation.
Clarity built in
Your organization. Your structure. Your permissions.
Keep your locations, departments, job titles, and reporting relationships. Barkly uses those relationships and configured permissions to determine who can communicate with whom. Employees see the information and conversations available to them.
Can employees use Barkly without a company email address?
Yes. Barkly does not require a company email domain. Employees need an email address for their invitation and account access; announcements and messages are available inside Barkly after sign-in.
Can we communicate with only part of the organization?
Yes. Authorized senders can select audiences such as organization units, groups, and individual employees. Available choices depend on their permissions and the workflow they are using.
Can employees ask questions and reply?
Yes. Conversations support replies. Announcements can also include comments when the author enables them, keeping questions with the original update.
How is this different from an email distribution list?
Barkly brings workplace updates, conversations, audience permissions, and announcement acknowledgments into one workspace. Employees return to the same announcement, and authorized managers can distinguish a view from an acknowledgment.
A workplace example
From a changed meeting room to a recorded response.
Your housekeeping team’s meeting has moved. Give the update a clear audience, the new room, and an explicit next step.
Write the change.
In Content, explain what changed, when it applies, and whom to contact with questions.
Review the audience.
Choose a permitted department or individual employees, then review the distribution list. Overlapping selections combine recipients; each person appears once.
Choose the response.
In Options, request acknowledgment with a clear statement. Enable discussion if employees should ask questions alongside the update.
Check before publishing.
Review the message, audience, required action, attachments, and publication time. Publish now or schedule it for later.
Follow up with context.
Authorized users can review Not Seen, Seen, and Acknowledged recipients. Check access and questions before deciding what follow-up is needed.
Our housekeeping meeting on [date] will take place in Room B at 2:00 p.m. The time is unchanged. Please acknowledge this update after reading it. If the change creates a problem for your shift, add a question here or contact your supervisor.
Illustrative workplace example. Available audiences and activity access depend on permissions. An acknowledgment records an action; it does not prove understanding.
